The Pretty Little Words is a online indie book shop offering monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly book box services. Each box contains a variety of signed books, bookish merchandise, and treats.

Subscriptions and one-time purchases are available on our bi-monthly boxes. Our aim is to bring joy and much-needed attention to the indie book world by exclusively featuring independent authors in our boxes.

Yes, we offer worldwide shipping. Prices vary and will be calculated at checkout. We are not responsible for foreign exchange fees, transaction fees, or other customs fees that may apply to non-US customers.

Our goal is to get preorders shipped out within 3 - 4 months of the preorder closing. Please see the product details of your preordered item for ESTIMATED shipping date.

All non-preordered items ship out within 8 weeks of purchase. There is always a possibility of a delay. To stay up to date, see our Shipping Updates page.

There are no refunds or returns on purchases. All sales are final. We do not offer returns unless the order is damaged or there are extenuating circumstances—and even then, your return must be approved via email by The Pretty Little Words. See the section below for more details.

Quality check is important to us. Every effort will be made to ensure your order is correct, packaged securely, and free of any defects. It is the responsibility of the customer to inspect their order when it arrives and reach out to us within seven (7) days if an item is damaged or incorrect.

Please be aware that some imperfections are to be expected. Below is a list of imperfections that DO NOT qualify for a return or refund :

1. Minor dents or wrinkles in the hinge of the spine.
2. Small, barely noticeable scrapes on the back cover.
3. Minor dents on the top or bottom of spine
4. Slight discoloration or design flaw on the edges.

There may be other imperfections not listed above that we would classify as passable condition. Please reach out if you're unsure.

Please note : we require proof of damage via photo and reserve the right to disagree. If we concur your order is damaged, and the fault lies with us, we require you to return the product to us before we ship out a replacement. The Pretty Little Words will email you a return shipping label as a one-time courtesy, free of charge. If you are unable to print and adhere said label, the cost of the return shipping falls solely on you.

No. As stated in the details of every product's page, there are no cancellations, returns, or refunds on any product. All sales are final.

Please note : If you file a chargeback or Paypal claim, we will cancel ALL of your orders with us and ban you from our website. 

Yes. We offer two (2) skips annually. Any more than that and your account will be canceled causing you to have to resign up for a subscription. You must skip by the 10th of the month, or you will be charged on the 15th for the upcoming box.

Please note, by the time you want to re-sign up for a subscription there could be a potential waiting list.

The fast answer is no. The books are sold in a set within their designated monthly and bi-monthly boxes. However, we do offer individual book preorders on our special charity boxes. This will be listed in the product details of those specific boxes.

Additionally, if we have any overstock books from a preorder that's already shipped, we will list those books individually. There is no guarantee we will have overstock, or that we will list them, so we advise not waiting to find out.

Please note, the Pretty Little Words features a wide variety of tropes within our boxes. From dark romance to rom com to bully to small town and more. And the same goes for our authors. We like to feature both widely and lesser known indie authors in boxes together with the hope of leading readers to authors they already love and introducing them to new authors they might just fall head over heels for.
